What is Cementitious Waterproofing?
Cementitious Waterproofing Systems are a cement based compound mixed with chemical waterproofing additives. The Cementitious Slurries are often used on or sandwiched between render layers.
The process involves spraying, brushing or trowelling the Tanking Slurry to masonry and concrete surfaces to provide Waterproof Protection to a Structure.
There are Four types of Cementitious Systems.
- Metallic Systems
- Capillary Systems
- Chemical Additive systems
- Acrylic Modified Systems
Cementitious Systems are good for both positive and negative applications. They are very effective when applied to a strong structure like concrete.
Cementitious Systems do not require a completely dry substrate and can therefore be applied through the curing process for new construction.
All cementitious Systems are designed to withstand water but lack elastomeric properties. They should be avoided when a structure faces thermal movement.
